Provident Energy Ltd.

In 2007 Provident Energy began fit out construction of a new ten story office location in the West Tower of Livingston Place. Both the south and west towers of Livingston Place were new construction initiatives and as such we would be the first tenants to occupy the ten floors we were leasing. Being first tenants in gave us the luxury of designing the optimal space for our company's current and future needs.

As a company that has grown through mergers and acquisitions, flexibility for re-organizing the office space was a key consideration in the planning and design phase of the project. After a number of product reviews and design iterations, Provident selected Kl demountable walls as the primary structure for the office construction. Selecting demountable walls would provide us the flexibility we required to re-configure our office space as required. In addition to demountable walls, we looked into modular power and voice and data solutions to integrate with the demountable walls so that we could have a truly modular environment. After several product and vendor reviews, Provident selected PCC Group to complete the voice and data portion of the fit out. We were not only impressed with the HT RapidNet pre-terminated modular cabling product line but also with knowledge and experience Peter Crawley and Peter Bagwell of PCC Group brought to the table. In fact, it was this knowledge and experience as well as their willingness to understand Provident's needs that allowed them to win the contract over the base building electrical contractor.

Throughout the lengthy design phase, PCC worked alongside Provident and our design company to design a network solution that would work for us. Once installation began PCC kept to their install schedules and were never a holdup for any other trade. In addition, PCC remained on budget throughout the project. As with most construction projects, significant changes to both design and construction occurred throughout the fit-out phase. PCC happily worked with Provident through all of these changes and always presented solutions or alternatives that worked for us. In the end, a total of 1920 Cat6 network outlets, 360 6-port consolidation points and 120 duplex fibre ports were installed in the building. All ports were Fluke tested by PCC and we were provided all test results along with installation drawings. To date, we have not had a single port or connection fail.

Over the last two years, Provident has undergone significant change which has resulted in significant re­ configurations to all of our floors. Having a modular setup has saved us hundreds of thousands of dollars in construction costs and has fast tracked all of our office changes. Through all these changes, PCC has been there to provide design ideas and to implement the necessary voice and data changes r'equired.

It has been and continues to be an absolute pleasure working with the folks from PCC Group and I highly recommend them for any voice and data installation initiative.
